When I boot up the machine, this changes to "Reinstall VMware Tools", but it is stilled disabled. On the Ubuntu system, when the machine is powered down, I can see the menu choice "Install VMware Tools", but it is disabled, greyed out. And I have tried numerous methods to add them later, based on Stack OverFlow discussions, community discussions, blog posts, etc. iso files.īut it both cases, VMware Tools was not installed automatically as is described in the user manuals. I used the "easy install" method from download. I recently upgraded VMware Fusion to version 11.5.7 (17130923) on my MacBook Pro running macOS Catalina ver.
